Apprentice Posts: 1 Joined: 26 Feb 2007 | I am having the exact same problem. I am using the new Windows Vista on my brand new XPS Desktop and can't seen to get the game working. If anyone knows of alternate and complete patches, I would love some good guidance in this area. Jon |

Apprentice Posts: 3 Joined: 25 Feb 2007 | Hi again...thanks for your advice I just got off the chat box to SOE and he told me to delete the Mss32.dll file and then run the program again. Now it seems to have gotten over that hurdle. Now it says download complete and just says updating??? I think someone else was having this problem but I didn't see any solution. I am going nuts :0()... |

Apprentice Posts: 1 Joined: 12 Mar 2007 | I had the same problem installing SWG on Vista ... had to delete mss32.dll .... it re-downloaded itself but wouldnt update further. I just set the program to Run As Administrator ... and off it goes. It works. The whole mss32.dll thing is weird. The identical file is installed with Dungeon Siege II ... with no problems. |

Apprentice Posts: 1 Joined: 31 May 2008 | I had the same problem and this is what I did: After installing the game you will get the program icon on your desktop. Before running the game right click on the icon and choose properties. Now choose the "compatibility" tab. Toward the bottom where it says "Privilege Level", check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". Run the program as normal and everything should download and start as usual. I hope this works for you as it did for me. Good luck! |

Never understand why paople have so many problems. I have played EVERYTHING with little to no issues at all. I play Crysis and Fallout 1 with the same ease. Onvce in a while I have to find a workaround for a really old game, but it is always a minor one that takes seconds. Thats 64bit Premium too. I attribute most problems with a combination of Vista and shitty PC components or P.O.S. Dell and all their budget bloatware B.S. I installed Vista on a new build in Feb of this year and have not had one single issue since. Backwards compatability is always the responsibility of the software you are trying to get your OS to run, not the other way around. Ever thought that maybe SWG is shit and not Vista? |
