Star Wars Galaxies: SWG Team Profile: Mikkel \"Hjal\" Jensen

What is your real name? Mikkel "Hjal" Jensen.

What is your official title/position? I am a QA Associate / Apprentice Designer. I mainly work as the point of contact for the Live QA team. That means that we're the testers that run around and try to reproduce the issues that players encounter on the live servers. A large part of that involves working with the players on TC-Prime, attempting to reproduce issues from the profession forums.

How long have you been working on Star Wars Galaxies? I have been working on SWG for 2 - 2 ½ years.

What profession do you like to play in Star Wars Galaxies? It depends. I've spent most of my time on officer, spy and medic. I've spent time with most professions in one way or another.

What do you enjoy most about your job on SWG, and why? Working on TC-Prime. It's awesome to work with the players there to slowly unravel the details of some of the older more obscure bugs in the game and finally figure out just how it happens so the issue can be passed onto the designers or programmers.

Who is your favorite Star Wars character and why? Darth Vader.. C'mon, Vader is most likely the coolest bad guy ever to appear in a movie. There's no way Luke could have won, I think he was hacking!

What's your favorite video game of all time and why? Ugh, that's a tough one. The obvious would be the MMOs I've spend a lot of time playing. Mainly SWG, I started playing a week or so after launch and have been playing on and off since then. There are a lot of awesome single playing games out there as well. Back to the old Civilization, SSI Gold Box D&D games, Star Control II to new titles like Bioshock, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Neverwinters Nights 2 and Knights of the Old Republic.

If I had to pick one I'd probably point to the old Star Control II, it was a game that was so far ahead of its time. It had great story, wide open world and huge universe to explore as you pleased, fun combat and a lot more.

Outside of work, what do you like to do? As little as possible ;) Play video games, catch a good movie. I never miss a new episode of South Park.
